Part 8: Mirror, Mirror On the Wall
We already know you are the fairest of them all – now let’s discuss how to use mirrors to bring reflective beauty to your home. Not only a fabulous way to check yourself out, a mirror can be the most stunning and dramatic must-have decorating item for any space.
Don’t have the budget for that wonderful Warhol? A killer mirror can take the place of art in any room, gracing walls with depth and style. They can transform small spaces, and add to the grandeur of a larger room. Mirrors will re-direct exterior views to achieve just the right focal point, and can be grouped together for maximum impact. Consider repurposing an unexpected piece to use as a frame, such as a classic vintage tennis racket! Mirrors make dramatic tiles for backsplashes or fireplace surrounds; they can be framed and simply left leaning against a wall. Clear, colored, gilt, or antiqued – oval, square, round, or rectangular – oversized or miniature – there is a mirror to shine in any design scheme.
A show-stopping decorative detail, mirrors are a brilliant addition to every home: here are a few inspirational images, along with some beautiful mirrors available at Previously Owned by a Gay Man.
