Liz Hickok’s photographs are the result of many stages of construction: building scale models of urban landmarks, creating molds, casting with Jell-O, lighting and set design and finally, photography. Hickok’s richly colored and luminous images speak to the complexity of the urban landscape and the mass production of our material environment while bringing the transitory nature of human artifacts to the forefront.
Liz Hickok is a San Francisco-based artist working in photography, video, sculpture, and installation. Hickok received her MFA from Mills College in Oakland, California.
