“Parade Saddle” is the title of this original print from the estate of artist Dan Mitra – signed and numbered by Mitra. This is a two plate etching, printed off center, to give it a unique, almost contemporary look when framed. In what can only be described as “Old West Brown,” or umber, the color is what is most beautiful about this print. It is beautifully simple and elegant, yet intricately drawn. The top plate image, which features a beautifully drawn old parade saddle, measures 17.5 inches X 24 inches. The bottom image, showing an old-fashioned pistol, measures 10″ X 3.5″. The paper size is 28.75″ X 39″. Printed on extra-heavy museum quality paper and hand-colored with fade resistant inks, the print is not framed. The embossed border of the plates is an element that gives etchings their unique and collectible quality. Each hand-pulled print is considered an original; this print is number 12 out of a total of 200 prints. Excellent condition.
Seller’s note: It is possible to separate the two plates, then re-center them in the same mat. I think it would reduce the value.
