This artwork is made of 30 individual 10″ squares with two depths 5/8″ or 1 3/4″. It can be purchased as a complete installation, or available as smaller groupings upon request for $500 each. Martin spent 90 days as an artist in residence at Giverny in Claude MonetÍs garden. With 24 hour access, she spent many hours musing on how Monet planned, planted and painted his lily pond: earthwork, site-specific, installation and public. Martin received her MFA from the California College of Art in 1981. Her work explores memory and forgotten experiences. Her work is often a reflection on the horizon, the line between what is real and what is reflected.
